Learn to be Honest with Oneself

Exigo_1314

Vere is hilarious – seriously worries too much. You should see her during performance reviews. The Chief always asks, So what’s your grade? And Vere always says, I think a B. I could have done this better or that better. I could have tried harder.

Honesty: That’s what the Chief likes. Don’t get me wrong, Vere always ends up with an A. The Chief knows each of us could always try harder but she also knows who’s really trying. (It’s pretty obvious who is and isn’t.) The line between an A and a B takes a while to figure out, but honestly, it’s easy to understand.

I’m Exigon. Once you get your ID card I’ll be helping you grow some wings of your own. Here at d01, the Chief wants her employees to earn creative freedom and help push the business in new directions. And it all starts with honesty and introspection.

Like Vere said, weird, but dang if it doesn’t work. Once you learn to be really honest with yourself and others, the rest kinda just falls into place.

Honesty and effort. Not much to ask in return for an A and a pair of wings, is it?

For you audio-visual learners, here’s a speech from a famous silent film star:

Get that ID card and we’ll talk some more. Meanwhile, there’s another message a few of you need to be aware of.
